So What The Heck Is Lip Blushing Exactly?
Lip blushing is a semipermanent makeup tattoo that gives lips a subtle rosy flush.
Does Lip Blushing Look Natural?
What do naturally youthful lips look like? A smooth rosy pout with a defined border. As we age, our lips lose collagen and fullness, pigmentation becomes uneven and we lose definition in the border of our lips. Lip Blushing gives subtle wash of color similar to the look of a lip stain or tinted lip gloss. Lips will look a little fuller simply by being defined and enhanced but lip blushing won’t actually change the shape or feeling of your lips. Instead, it’ll just leave you with a soft, shaded-in color that can enhance your lip symmetry, cover uneven pigmentation or scars, and give you the illusion of naturally youthful lips... without the filler duck lips!
What If I like To Change My Lipstick Color Frequently?
This is a common question and it's an easy answer. Lip Blushing is meant to be a subtle enhancement of your natural lip color. It's not meant to look like a permanent lipstick. So the answer is, you can put any and every color of lipstick on just like you do now to change up your lip color!
Can I Pick My Color?
When you come in for your consult, we will go through all of the available colors. We can also create a custom blended color to match your favorite lipstick or lip gloss. All of our pigment shades have a perfectly formulated matching lip gloss so you can even give your color a test run at your consult!
Does Lip Blushing Hurt?
Topical numbing agents are applied and are very effective in minimizing discomfort.
Everyone's pain tolerance varies. Some people may not feel any discomfort. You are able to take Tylenol before your appointment. Make sure to follow pre-care instructions, which includes avoiding caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours prior to your procedure. Avoid taking naproxen, ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, garlic, gingko, and Vitamin A or E for 72 hours prior to your procedure. You can also be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
How Long Will Lip Blushing Last?
Lip Blushing can last several years before needing a color refresher. Factors that can cause your lip color to fade a bit faster are smoking and sun exposure. If you have oily skin, an iron deficiency or use a lot of exfoliating and skin lightening products in your skin regimen, these may also cause your lips to fade a bit faster.
